SkyHigh Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct establishes the minimum standards of behaviour expected from all individuals using the SkyHigh Network, including pilots, air traffic controllers, staff members, and guests.

This Code applies at all times while connected to the SkyHigh Network or using any official SkyHigh services or platforms, including Discord servers, forums, training systems, and official events.

Violation of this Code may result in warnings, suspension, restriction of privileges, or permanent removal from the SkyHigh Network, as outlined in the Code of Regulations.

Members shall conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner towards all other members and staff.

Harassment, discrimination, abusive behaviour, threats, toxic conduct, or profanity used in an abusive, disruptive, or inappropriate manner is strictly prohibited regardless of platform or communication method.

Members shall comply with all lawful instructions issued by authorised SkyHigh staff while connected to the network or participating in official services.

Members shall not engage in conduct that damages, or is likely to damage, the reputation, stability, or operation of SkyHigh.

Each individual may hold only one SkyHigh membership account unless otherwise authorised in writing by SkyHigh staff.

Members must register using their real legal first and last name as used in everyday life for identification and moderation purposes. SkyHigh respects member privacy and personal information shall only be visible where operationally or administratively required.

Members shall not share their account credentials with any other individual or access the network using another person’s account.

Members remain responsible for all activity conducted under their account, regardless of whether the activity was authorised by them.

SkyHigh permits streaming, recording, and public broadcasting of network sessions.

1. All conduct displayed during streams or recordings remains subject to this Code of Conduct.
2. If a stream or recording is linked within a flight plan, profile, or official SkyHigh platform, associated content such as livestream chat may also fall under this Code.
3. Deliberately disrupting another member’s livestream or recording session is prohibited and may result in immediate disciplinary action.
4. SkyHigh does not guarantee the ability for members to opt out of inclusion within another member’s livestream or recording.

Operational communication shall be conducted in clear and concise English unless local procedures explicitly permit another language.

Members shall maintain professional and operationally relevant communications while connected to the network. Excessive profanity, insults, offensive remarks, or disruptive communication over voice or text channels is prohibited.

Voice and text channels used for operational purposes shall remain relevant to aviation operations. Social conversation should be limited to designated community channels.

Recording or streaming another member’s transmissions or voice communications must comply with applicable laws and SkyHigh privacy guidance. Members are responsible for complying with local recording and privacy laws applicable within their jurisdiction. Where required, members must clearly disclose that a recording or livestream is in progress.

Pilots shall operate aircraft in a manner consistent with real-world aviation practices while remaining within the limitations of their simulator and experience level.

Pilots shall comply with valid ATC instructions and clearances unless doing so would compromise simulator safety.

Pilots must continuously monitor assigned frequencies and maintain the ability to transmit and receive communications while connected to the voice environment.

Intentional disruption, including reckless flying, runway incursions, taxiway obstruction, or repeated disconnecting and reconnecting to gain advantage, is prohibited.

Pilots shall use realistic and valid flight plans where practicable, including accurate routes, aircraft equipment codes, and performance details.

Pilots may not simulate emergencies, unlawful interference, or military combat activity without prior approval from affected ATC units and in accordance with published SkyHigh procedures.

Pilots shall not connect to the network while positioned on an active runway or taxiway. If connecting near another aircraft, the connecting pilot is responsible for ensuring safe separation.

Intentional pausing while connected to the SkyHigh Network is prohibited unless expressly authorised by the controlling ATC unit.

Should a pilot require a short break from the simulator, temporary absence from cockpit should not normally exceed 20 minutes.

Pilots shall utilise transponders when required by regulation or procedure unless otherwise authorised by ATC.

Pilots should maintain previously assigned squawk codes unless otherwise directed by ATC or where flight rules have changed.

Pilots connecting to the SkyHigh Network are expected to possess sufficient knowledge and understanding of their aircraft, simulator, and basic flight procedures prior to participating in network operations.

Pilots shall be capable of safely operating their aircraft during all phases of flight, including taxi, departure, navigation, communication, approach, and landing, to a reasonable standard sufficient to avoid disruption to other network users.

Members who are still learning an aircraft are encouraged to practise offline or within designated training environments before participating in busy or controlled airspace on the network.

Controllers shall provide service professionally using phraseology and procedures consistent with real-world operations and SkyHigh training standards.

Controllers shall not operate positions or provide services beyond their authorised rating or endorsements.

Controllers must remain attentive and available while connected. Extended inactivity or unattended positions are prohibited.

Controllers shall coordinate effectively with neighbouring sectors and facilities to maintain orderly and realistic operations.

Controllers shall not deliberately deny or restrict service except where necessary for operational safety, traffic management, or enforcement of network policies.

Controllers unfamiliar with an airspace or procedure should familiarise themselves through observation, documentation, or training before controlling that area.

Controllers may establish additional connections solely for approved ATIS services where applicable, unless otherwise authorised by SkyHigh staff.

Controllers or observers may establish one additional observer connection exclusively for approved tower-view functionality and observational purposes unless otherwise authorised.

Controllers shall configure visibility ranges appropriate to their operational position in accordance with published SkyHigh procedures.

Official SkyHigh community platforms, including Discord servers and forums, are considered extensions of the network environment and remain fully subject to this Code.

Sharing explicit, hateful, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content is prohibited.

Members shall respect moderators and staff while complying with all platform-specific rules and procedures.

Public disputes, harassment campaigns, or “name-and-shame” posts targeting individuals are not permitted on official SkyHigh platforms.

Members shall not use software, scripts, exploits, or unauthorised modifications to gain unfair advantages or disrupt network operations.

Attempting to bypass technical restrictions, disciplinary actions, or network security measures is prohibited.

Members shall not intentionally transmit false, manipulated, or misleading network data.

Unauthorised access to, interference with, or modification of SkyHigh systems is strictly prohibited.

SkyHigh is a virtual simulation network and must not be used to provide real-world aviation instructions or operational control.

Members shall not falsely imply endorsement by real-world aviation authorities, airlines, airports, or regulators unless officially authorised by SkyHigh.

Members employed within real-world aviation remain responsible for complying with all applicable employer and regulatory policies.

Members are encouraged to report suspected violations through official SkyHigh reporting systems or designated staff channels.

SkyHigh staff may collect logs, voice recordings, screenshots, chat history, and other relevant evidence during investigations.

Disciplinary action may include warnings, suspensions, permanent bans, role restrictions, or removal of network privileges in accordance with the Code of Regulations.
